BRIEF: RE-MIX THE PAST FOR THE PRESENT GENERATION
MTV Classic had a massive archive of footage spanning from 1980 to 2000s that they knew their clip hungry audience would love to see. They opened up the vault and asked us to create a series of IDs from whatever footage we could find to package up these amazing moments for a whole new generation of viewers.
SOLUTION: THROWBACK IDS WITH A MODERN EDGE
We created multiple IDs that bridged the throwback sensibility of the footage with more modern behaviors and references. MTV Classic K-Hole is inspired by that Tuesday feeling of clicking through addictive clips online, thematically tied together by a search term. MTV Translator serves up old definitions to new slang, featuring some of our favorite footage from the vault.
