BRIEF: COUNT 25 YEARS OF IMPOSSIBLE SHOTS

In 25 years, the WNBA has defied doubts and exceeded expectations by proving themselves on the court and making all kinds of waves off the court, from standing up for social justice to playing with pride. We partnered with Saatchi & Saatchi, NY to help “count” these achievements in a 25th anniversary anthem spot that played on the notion of “count it” as something you say on the court after making a particularly impossible shot.

SOLUTION: AN ANTHEM FILM THAT RUNS UP THE SCORE

We created a graphic language and editorial cadence to show off the breadth of accomplishments made by WNBA players, from dunks and motherhood to showing up for Pride and Black Lives Matter. The spot showcased a variety of media, including TikToks, news headlines, game footage and the players’ Instagram feeds, so we wove the spot together jumping off from the WNBA brand DNA, ultimately creating a celebratory piece that was featured on the WNBA homepage and social media as well as news outlets like ESPNW and People.com.
