BRIEF: SHOW THE IMPACT OF CODECADEMY IN ONE SHORT STORY
Codecademy allows you to take online coding courses so you can develop more skills. The Skillsoft team came to us with the idea for a video that would show an emotional, first-person user journey of someone using Codecademy to find the right job for their life goals, all told through on-screen graphics and animation.
SOLUTION: A SWEET ON SCREEN TALE OF SELF-DEVELOPMENT
Using Codecademy brand guidelines, we designed a bright, bold “almost real” on screen journey that tells the story of how developing skills with Codecademy can positively impact one person’s life. Little touches of realism like search language, pacing and sound design from Ambrose Yu helped dial up the emotion of the story without relying on a VO, ultimately pulling the viewer into our hero’s journey. Bonus points if you can spot Kendra in a cameo as a YouTube coder!
